Our Innovation Journey
A timeline of the programmes and partnerships that have shaped our work
IRC — MEDIA Network
For seven years SPIN delivered a technology transfer service for SMEs, promoting technology requests and offers and facilitating collaborations with companies and research centres across Europe. The service was run in partnership with the IRC-MEDIA centre for Sicily and Calabria, a node of the European network of Innovation Relay Centres.
Enterprise Europe Network
SPIN has been a partner of the Enterprise Europe Network since April 2008 — the world's largest network supporting SMEs, created and co-financed by the European Commission. As a network partner, SPIN provides companies and research centres with a wide range of services, information and access to EU policies, programmes and funding opportunities, helping SMEs find business and technology partners, develop new products, access new markets and stay informed on EU-level opportunities.
SharEEN
A European pilot project on "Opportunities for European entrepreneurs in the sharing economy," co-financed by the European Commission (call 251-G-GRO-PPA-16-9953, grant agreement SI2.763745). SharEEN aimed to identify and connect collaborative economy platforms, exchange experience among stakeholders and help European SMEs, social enterprises and other relevant actors seize the opportunities offered by the sharing economy.
INCAME
The INCAME project aimed to improve innovation management within SMEs through a structured assessment of their innovation management capacity. The evaluation used certified tools compliant with European standards and, with the support of certified experts, benchmarked each company's innovation management capability against other businesses across a set of key innovation factors.
BridgeUP
BridgeUP supported a group of promising startups through their scale-up journey. The project carried out regional ecosystem analysis, scouting and coaching activities, with SPIN acting as a project partner.
ICT Innovation Pole — Calabria
In collaboration with the managing body of the Calabria ICT Innovation Pole (Centro di Competenze ICT-SUD), SPIN delivered the pole's official Activity Programme: designing and developing a web platform for business orientation, supporting networking activities for access to the local innovation system, fostering innovation and technology transfer processes, identifying innovation opportunities and drafting feasibility studies for R&D projects.
Transport, Logistics & Transformation Pole
Working with the managing body of the Transport, Logistics and Transformation Innovation Pole, SPIN organised a workshop presenting the projects of the pole's Strategic Agenda and designed and developed the related project websites, built on the open-source WordPress CMS. SPIN also took part in the OSMETE project, which carried out outreach activities for the Observatory of the Gioia Tauro Logistics and Transformation Technology District.
Digital Ecosystems for Software Companies
This project studied, designed and tested digital ecosystems for complex organisations operating in software development and sales, aiming to improve their organisational processes and increase competitiveness by reducing development time, boosting innovation capacity and strengthening networking with partners and clients.
